What do you want to do with your future?
I guess it all started the day someone asked, “what do you want to do with your future?” Wow, what a question! Everyone gets asked it but hardly ever do they know the answer. Well that was me! I had absolutely no clue what I wanted to do with my life. There are so many things that I love doing and some might think, “why on earth did you have a problem,” well the problem was which one to choose that would make me happy for the rest of my life. Anyway, moving on. A couple of months down the line, at the end of grade 12, I finally figured it out, I want to study psychology. At this point, I had missed the deadline for applications. Could this go anymore wrong? The only choice I had left was a gap year. What a disaster it has been. I have been to Ireland which I was meant to visit for 3 months but only lasted two weeks. To make a long story short, it was some of the worst memories of my life.
For many months after returning from Ireland I sat at home doing nothing. Some amazing things happened during that time that I would never change but non the less I was bored. I had lost hope in my abilities and just completely lost hope in myself. I needed to do something. That brings me to about 2 months ago. My friends were at a coffee shop called Vintage Coffee just up the road from me. When I arrived, I saw this red headed woman standing behind the front counter making coffee. Spoiler alert it was Kelsey – co owner of Untamed Creative Society. My friends then proceeded to share with me that she had told them about this internship that her company was running in order to educate the minds of our future generation, something Untamed Creative Society holds very dear to its heart. I was still very hesitant to enquire about this internship due to my lack of confidence. Then, one Sunday I saw Kelsey at our church and was just overcome by this emotion that I needed to ask her about the internship.
Two weeks ago, I started working for this amazing company run by two amazing women. Untamed Creative Society has changed my life for the good and to Kelsey and Rebeca I will be forever grateful! These two women inspire the worlds’ next generation to be creative, to never back down and to be unapologetically themselves. They have taught me so much, things that I can not only share with others but that have expanded my mind and changed the way I approach everyday life. I have been able to put some of those many things that fill my heart with joy to use, like my passion for photography. And that is not even the best part. I have made friends that I know I will keep for the rest of my life. I have grown mentally, socially and spiritually; the confidence that I once believed I would never feel again, I now have an abundance of.
My name is Paige and I am one of the 3 Untamed Creative Society interns. I am empowered, I am bold, I am fearless, I am Untamed!
