So Instagram is changing...So what?
If you haven't heard by now we thought we'd update you...Instagram is changing and it will affect your small biz or brand. But maybe, like most people you are wondering how.
The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, has declared that it is "no longer a photo sharing app".
Now, while this does impact your small business, start up or brand, it also isn't something to freak out about. YES, they are changing, but NO, it doesn't mean you should stop sharing photo content altogether.
Here's our summary for you:
Instagram is going to be shifting focus more towards entertainment - competing with the likes of TikTok and Youtube.
Instagram is moving focus to four key things: creators, videos, shopping and messaging.
It doesn't mean you should stop sharing photo content altogether, it just means that there is a need to re-strategise and focus on incorporating video content (if you aren't already!)
So, if you are on Instagram as a business or creator our suggestion would be to shift the focus of your content to include reels, going live on Instagram and videos alongside your photo content.
Although it may seem intimidating and reels definitely don't have the same kind of push towards website traffic, it is worthwhile to make sure that your strategy aligns to these changes.
